Clip Chart
Our classroom will use a clip chart to monitor individual student behavior. The clip chart that we use goes along with the Leader in Me behavior program mentioned above. A clip chart is a great tool that allows students to be rewarded for positive behavior, while discouraging negative behavior. Each student has a clothespin with his/her name on it. Everyone will start on green at the beginning of each day, and clips will be moved up and down the chart throughout the day based on behavior. Your child will fill in his/her clip chart calendar each night so that you can monitor how your child behaved during the school day. You should look over the clip chart calendar each night and return it to school in your child's take-home folder.

VIP Table
Each week, one of the 5 tables will receive the title of "VIP." The VIP table will be chosen by using a point system. Starting on Monday and continuing throughout the week, students have the chance to earn points for their table by behaving well in class. They can earn points by remaining quiet during lessons and instructions, keeping their table supplies neat and tidy, being great listeners, showing leadership, helping others, and being the first table to be ready after a direction is given.
The perks of being a part of the VIP table include getting to use fun school supplies such as smelly markers, gel pens, twistable crayons, mechanical pencils, and so on. In addition, the VIP table members get to wear a "brag tag" necklace on Mondays that tells others that they are members of the VIP table. I will add new and exciting supplies to the VIP table throughout the year to keep the students motivated.

Marble Jar
The marble jar is something that I will use to reward the whole class for positive behavior. I will add a handful of marbles to our jar each time the class as a whole does something positive. When the jar is full, I will reward the class.
